Interweave Crochet
A Great Magazine

Interweave Crochet is an excellent magazine for crocheters of all levels. It's published by Interweave Press, a publishing company based in Loveland, Colorado, and is one of my personal favorite crochet magazines.

It has around 100 pages packed with cutting edge designs from both new and experienced designers. With around 20 patterns for $7.99 per issue, it's exceedingly good value for money. Not including all the articles, tips and techniques...what a bargain! They also offer a subscription rate which saves you 25% off the shelf price - even more of a bargain.

This crochet magazine only recently joined the realms of quarterly issues, but its' counterpart Interweave Knits has been in existence far longer.

One thing I particularly love about this magazine, is that each pattern is shown in its' entirity in one place! I can't abide getting part way through a pattern only to find that's it's "continued on page 83". How frustrating is that? Actually, I did find one pattern which was split into two places - one I can handle.

Additionally, each design is well photographed and all instructions are clearly and methodically displayed - schematic diagrams alongside written instructions make for very easily readable patterns.

Interweave Crochet is a very well laid out magazine. All contact information is at the front and easily found, together with a very easy to read contents page right inside the front cover.

Each issue spotlights a certain yarn and either shows swatches or a pattern in the chosen yarn. They also highlight new books which are new to the market or about to be released. I find this very useful.

They then move into the pattern section, which is interspersed with interesting advertisements. In some crochet magazines I find the advertisements quite overpowering as they make you search for the patterns. With Interweave Crochet this is NOT the case.

And so, towards the back of the magazine they give you sources for all the supplies needed for the patterns, classified ads, and a closing article.

So - in a nutshell...

  • Quarterly issues
  • $7.99 per issue (unless you subscribe at a 25% discount)
  • Interesting articles : worldwide topics
  • Approx. 20 new & up to date fashionable patterns per issue
  • Whole pattern shown in one place (rarely split)
  • Well photographed
  • Schematics and written instructions
  • Spotlight on yarns
  • Highlights new books
  • Supply sources
  • Classifieds

Like I said - Interweave Crochet Magazine is one of my personal favorites and one I'd highly recommend to you. Check it out - I think you'll like it too.
