Crochet Magazines
Which Do You Like?

Crochet magazines seem to be on the shelf one day and gone the next. It's either feast or famine, or so it seems to me.

I've found them in grocery stores, bookstores and of course in yarn and craft stores, but are they really worth what you pay for them?

Well, that all depends on what you want. I'm sure one thing we all crave are patterns - we all want patterns - as many of them that we really like for as few pennies as possible. Though, I'm sure we've all paid dearly for that one project we just CAN'T pass up - no matter what.

I can't deny that another thing I look for is value for money. Sometimes I can get away with sneaking a mag into the cart whilst grocery shopping. That aisle just beckons me into temptation. I can hear it calling from far, far away. When it comes to the lure of crochet magazines and wonderful yarns, I am weak willed, there - I admitted it.

But you know, sometimes it's just not easy to find those elusive gems of magazines that are worth their weight in gold. So - I'm going to let you know which magazines I've been able to find and what they do for me - good or bad.

The idea is to let you know which ones are really worth looking out for. Here's a tip...when you do find one you really like - SUBSCRIBE. That way they're delivered to your door, you don't have to go searching for them AND that's the major way that the publishers know that people still want the crochet magazines. Otherwise they may not be available as long as we'd like.

Also - I may delve into a few knitting magazines too, as these days many of them do include crochet projects. For those of us who can knit and crochet there are some exquisite masterpieces out there just begging to be created. For those of us who don't knit yet, but would like to learn - there are some excellent places to learn how to knit.

So - I'd like to review these crochet magazines and some other magazines that may be of interest to you...

  • Interweave Crochet
  • Crochet!
  • Family Circle Easy Crochet
  • Crochet World
  • Simply Creative Crochet
  • Spin Off (for felting and fiber)
  • Vogue Knitting International
  • Interweave Knits
  • Knit n Style
  • Knitters Magazine

This should keep you going for a while. All these choices should jolt you into action. Happy crafting...
